Social

Delta Chi is a social fraternity.  Other than having casual social hangouts on the weekends, we have numerous scheduled events planned in detail throughout the semester.  To start the year, we beat the Georgia heat by renting massive slip-n-slides, inflatables, and a snow cone truck.

Each semester we have an annual campus wide party.  In the fall, we have Wreck the Deck and in the spring we have Reggae Weekend, both of which last 3 nights: one night is a crush party, the other a band party, and finally a DJ party.  Brothers bond the week before each party by preparing elaborate decorations that cover the entire courtyard as well as getting the word around that all friends are welcome to come.

As for events with sororities, we have mixers where we rent out nice venues to hang out and get to know the sorority as a whole.  We also occasionally have a dinner mixer where a sorority comes to our house and we have a special dinner for both the brothers and sisters.  In addition, we have date nights planned throughout the semester where each brother is allowed to bring along one person as their date.  For those events, we go to venues including skating rinks, Braves games, and bowling alleys.

Another one of our largest events is our semiannual formals where we leave campus and have a dinner and dance in a neighboring city.  In the fall we have semi-formal, which has taken place in closer cities such as Chattanooga, Nashville, and Athens.  In the spring, we have formal, where we have charter buses escort us to cities like New Orleans, Charleston, and Savannah.  For both events, brothers are allowed one date and have the weekend to explore a new city, while we all come together and have a large catered dinner in formal attire and then rent out a venue and DJ for a chapter dance.
