Homecoming
Homecoming is held in the fall in conjunction with the alumni association
and athletic association's events. In the week prior, the greek
organizations on campus compete in all sorts of events. These include
field events such as Pyramid Egg Toss and The Stand. The chapter
also decorates the house with a display similar to a parade float.
Other events include the entry into the Wreck Parade, and the Classic
Car Competition. A favorite is always Mock Rock, in which the organizations
compete to present the best choreographed dance skit.
Delta Chi is usually a top place finisher and a strong contender
in most events. We have placed in the top three in Mock Rock for
several consecutive years and brother Paul Supawanich won Mr. Georgia
Tech 2004. The chapter also has a great time competing in other
events. Delta Chi won the Homecoming competition in 2005 and placed second
in 2006.
Greek Week
Greek Week is a week-long competition held in the spring between
greek organizations. The chapters again compete in several events
including Greek God, Dizzy Bat Race, and Downhill Racer. Greek Sing
is also held during this week, which is a competition of musical
skits played and sung by members.
A crowd favorite during Greek Week is always the Tug competition.
Teams compete in a single elimination tournament. A 8 foot by 50
foot pit is dug 5 feet deep, then filled with water to make a slippery,
muddy pit for a tug-of-war competition.
Delta Chi is also a strong competitor in Greek Week events. We've
placed in the top three in Greek Sing for several years running,
and we finished second in Tug from 2004-2006.
